Juventus and Chelsea are currently sparing the same Champions League group and the Italian Champions are aiming to lure a Blues legend to Turin as the Calcio Mercato claims that Juve believe Didier Drogba can be pried away from Shanghai Shenua. The Ivorian star has been with the Chinese Super League side since leaving Chelsea for free in the summer, with a lucrative contract tempting the Champions League winner to jump ship to the Far-East.
The million-a-month two-and-a-half year contract will be hard to match for Juventus, but the current financial situation at the Shanghai club could force Drogba to return to Europe. Drogba and Nicolas Anelka’s wages are under threat dude to a boardroom struggle at the club, with a vital stakeholder threatening to pull out.But despite the struggle, Drogba recently stated that he wouldn’t be making a comeback anytime soon, with Arsenal being linked with a shock move for the striker. As for Juve, they tried hard to land at least one centre forward from the Premier League all summer long, with Luis Suarez, Edin Dzeko and Robin van Persie all linked. But they had to ultimately settle for a loan move for Nicklas Bendtner. The Old Lady are still confident that they can establish contact with the 34 year old, with an eye for a January move.
