Arsenal have agreed to send South Korean forward Park Ju-Young on loan to Celta Vigo for the rest of the season, the club’s official website announced. The 27 year old arrived at the Emirates from Monaco last summer, but has since failed to break into the first-team and with Arsene Wenger splashing the cash on attacking imports this summer; Park was tipped to be loaned out. The Asian star has managed to find the net only once in his short stay at the Emirates so far.
Park is eligible to play for Celta in their weekend game, but the newly promoted Spanish outfit aren’t expected to place him in the playing squad just yet. The striker was involved with South Korea at the London Olympics over the summer, scoring two goals to help the Asian giant grab bronze.
With Park now gone, Wenger will focus on Nicklas Bendtner and Marouane Chamakh as he trims his bulging squad. The arrival of Lukas Podolski, Olivier Giroud and Santi Cazorla has given the manager multiple options despite the departure of Robin van Persie.
Bendtner is undergoing a medical at Italian champions Juventus and is expected to also join on a season long loan with an option to buy, while Chamakh could be set for similar terms at Besiktas.
