Chelsea continue to be switching their summer striker target and are believed to have come back in for Napoli's Uruguayan superstar Edinson Cavani after repeated failure in an attempt to procure the services of the explosive Brazilian striker Hulk.
The London club are facing a major shortage in that area of the pitch and only have Fernando Torres and Daniel Sturridge as out and out strikers after watching the Ivory Coast duo Didier Drogba and Salomon Kalou leave Stamford Bridge this summer, with Belgian youngster Romelu Lukaku also looking increasingly certain to go out on loan.
With Roman Abramovich spending whole heartedly in the transfer market to watch his dream of an era of Chelsea domination come true, one can easily expect a big-name striker to greet the gates of Stamford Bridge soon.
It was earlier expected that Chelsea would finally be able to capture their long-time target Hulk after Porto became ready to sell. However, the monstrous £60 million asking price is not being met by the Blues.
And with Edinson Cavani suddenly becoming available for €35 million (according to reports in the Daily Star), a deal for the impressive Uruguayan seems to be in the offing. Cavani's quality is undeniable and Chelsea would definitely have pulled through another masterclass if the move becomes a reality.
