Manchester United have made two signings this summer in Shinji Kagawa from Borussia Dortmund, for the now and Nick Powell from Crewe Alexandra, who is undoubtedly one for the future. And, while United continue to chase Arsenal's dissatisfied skipper Robin van Persie, Red Devils manager Sir Alex Ferguson is seething at the fact that he has missed out on Eden Hazard and now Lucas Moura, reported ESPN Soccernet.

Ferguson had recently been handed a massive £50 million war chest to help in his chase for Moura and Van Persie. The Scot had set aside £30 million for signing the young Brazilian, but the Sao Paulo midfielder is set to join French giants Paris Saint Germain, who butted in with a last minute €45 million bid to steal Moura from under Ferguson's nose.

An ESPN source was quoted as saying, "The Lucas Moura deal with PSG looks to be done at $40 million, and Manchester United thought they had got Hazard but he ended up going to Chelsea. Sir Alex is not happy with losing out on two of his top transfer targets this summer, not happy at all."

This would give Ferguson more funds to land Van Persie, for whom Arsenal expect £25 million. The Scot is furious over the way he lost out on two transfers, but the legendary United manager tends to always bounce back to clinch honours despite the odds.

Despite the lower than anticipated summer activity at Old Trafford, it would take a brave man to predict that United would go consecutive seasons without a trophy.
