The Australian Diamonds have arrived at the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra for a four-day selection camp commencing on Wednesday ahead of the 2012 international season.

The camp will see 22 players vie for Diamonds selection ahead of the three-Test Constellation Cup series against New Zealand Silver Ferns and the six-Test Quad-Series featuring New Zealand, England and South Africa.

Ashleigh Brazill, Karyn Howarth and Tegan Caldwell are making their national squad debuts while Thunderbirds' Maddy Proud, Fever's Chanel Gomes, Swifts' Amy Wild and Firebirds' Elissa Macleod join the squad as camp invitees.

Thursday 9 August is a significant day for netball; not just because the Diamonds hit the court for the first time in preparation for the 2012 season, but also because it will be three years from that day until the opening match of the 2015 World Netball Championship in Sydney, when the sport's pinnacle event returns to our shores after a break of 24 years.
