Ashley Cole's future at Chelsea has been thrown into further doubt after veteran left-back revealed the full-scale of his wage demands. The 31 year old has only a year remaining in his current deal and he is willing to walk away next summer should Chelsea fail to table an interesting offer. PSG have already revealed their interest in the player, with Carlo Ancelotti eager to reunite with his former player.
ESPN report that Cole wants his new contract to offer a bumper pay rise as he envisions a £200k-a-week package. Roman Abramovich and co have worked to reduce the club's wage bill by shipping out aging stars who were on high wages. Didier Drogba and Jose Bosingwa have left on a free transfer and Cole could do the same next season as the Blues are unlikely to meet his demands.
Chelsea's thinking might also be clouded by the emergence of Ryan Bertrand, who has stepped in admirably whenever thrown onto the scene. They have tried to bring down the average age of the squad and with that in mind, it is highly improbable that they would offer a £70k hike to a player on the wrong side of his 30's.- 04/08/2012 10:55 - Cazorla's move to Arsenal nears completion after Spaniard passes medical
