Shakhtar Donetsk slap £21 million price tag on Chelsea target Willian

The Metro reports that Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk have demanded £21 million from suitors of star winger Willian amid news of Chelsea rekindling their interest in the Brazilian. The Blues have decided to renew their chase for Willian as they think that he would help them further bolster their squad, especially in the wides areas of the pitch where they have been found lacking in the past.

Chelsea's owner Roman Abramovich wants to leave no stone unturned in his aim to establish an era of Chelsea domination. And he feels that a wide player would offer his team another dimension by helping them spread the play and provide pace down the flank. He is also looking at Arsenal's contract rebel Theo Walcott for that position, but a deal with their London rivals is always a difficult task to accomplish.

However, Shakhtar themselves are not making it easy themselves, having placed a high £21 million asking price for a player who joined them five years back for £12 million. They clearly want to capitalise on the fact that Chelsea's Russian Billionaire owner is on a spending spree, having splashed around cash for Eden Hazard and Marko Marin, with possible big money moves for Oscar and Edinson Cavani also in progress.

But, the London side needs to be careful and fully examine the need to sign Willian, especially for such high an amount as despite the 23 year old impressing for the Ukranian side, the Premier League is a completely different kettle of fish. Also, the young winger doesn't quite yet have enough experience at the national level to know how it's like to play against and amongst world class players.
