Martin Jol's Fulham are about to land Chelsea's skillful 19 year old striker Romelu Lukaku on loan for the next 12 months, reports Goal.com. The Cottagers are looking for striking reinforcements ahead of the upcoming season and are likely to be successful in snapping up the talented Belgian from rivals Chelsea for a period of one year.

Chelsea would take the burden of half of Lukaku's wages for the next season, similar to the deal they had struck with Gael Kakuta with Fulham last season. The former Anderlecht player would also be the third striker signing for a Fulham side who were in dire need of strengthening in that position having seen Andy Johnson move away as a free agent and last season's hit Pavel Pogrebnyak deciding to move to Reading instead.

Champions League winners Chelsea have agreed to the deal because it would mean more playing opportunities for the teenager and in the process would help him grow and develop some understanding of Premier League Football. Also, it would help them offload a player who was unlikely to be used as much in the upcoming season.

Lukaku arrived for a big £18 million price from Anderlecht last summer, but was largely unused throughout his first season, leaving him frustrated. He is currently behind Fernando Torres and Daniel Sturridge in the pecking order and with new signings arriving at Stamford Bridge on a regular basis this summer, first team football is almost a certain 'no'.

We believe that the loan move is a win-win for the three parties involved with Lakuka getting a chance to test himself in the Premier League, Fulham getting much more flair in their attack and Chelsea getting some wages off their bill besides helping a young talent develop into a future Stamford Bridge star.
