European champions Chelsea will need to break the Brazilian transfer fee record if they wish to sign 20 year old wonderkid Oscar according to reports emerging from his club Internacional.

Internacional president Giovanni Luigi said, "I want the transfer of Oscar to be the biggest transfer deal ever in Brazilian football." He told Radio Gaucha, "The Chelsea offer isn't that far from that. Last year, however, Tottenham made two offers for Leandro Damiao. We kept him and he was very important. Oscar's situation is similar. If we get offers for Oscar that match our expectations, we'll negotiate. But they have to be of the value that means significant resources for Internacional. But those values would be the biggest negotiation in Internacional's history."

Chelsea are reportedly readying a £25 million bid for the Internacional star, and looking at the present scenario, although Inter Milan, Barcelona, Real Madrid and rivals Tottenham have also targeted the player, it seems the Blues have the brightest chance of securing the midfielder's services. It is possible though that their present offer could well be the starting point of negotiations.

If signed, Oscar becomes part of the youth revolution at Chelsea this summer, with coach Roberto di Matteo signing Marko Marin and Eden Hazard, both highly rated youngsters, with other youngsters Romelu Lukaku and Kevin De Bruyne also expected to feature for the first team.

Oscar is a part of the Brazilian squad that is currently preparing for the London 2012 Olympics, and has already made six appearances for the national side.

The Chelsea squad is presently in the United States, and will kick off their pre-season tour with a friendly against MLS side Seattle Sounders, before games with French giants Paris Saint Germain, and Italian outfit AC Milan.

Midnight Update: Breaking News from Sky Sports suggests that a 25 million offer has since been accepted by Internacional and the deal for Oscar is well and truly on.
