Manchester United have been alerted about the possible availability of Brazilian starlet Lucas Moura, who had earlier spurned the approaches of Chelsea and Real Madrid stating that he wished to stay at Sao Paulo till the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. However, the Daily Mail reported that the playmaker is now open to a switch to Old Trafford even as Inter plan a swoop for the 19 year-old.

Moura started his career at Brazilian side Sao Paulo, joining the youth system in 2005. Since moving on to the first team in 2010, the player has become an integral part of the club setup, scoring 26 goals in over 100 appearances. The player has been capped 15 times by the national team and was keen on staying in Brazil till they launched their bid for another World Cup title in 2014.

The young Brazilian said about a possible transfer, “I cannot guarantee that I will stay until the end of my contract. Much has changed and the situation is not up to me anymore.”

Sir Alex Ferguson has been given the green signal to renew his chase for the starlet this summer as United look to strengthen a crumbling midfield before they take on rivals City for the Premier League next season. Inter are currently leading the race for the player and are expected to make a £20 million bid next week.

Although Chelsea and Real Madrid had given up on the player and moved to other targets, they could now be lured back into the race as Sao Paulo have also said that they would consider a sale if ‘crazy money' is offered for the youngster. With several clubs in the fray, United will have to move quickly if they want to sign the midfielder.
