The third ODI between England and Australia at Edgbaston was initially delayed by a wet outfield but after the rain continued to play hide and seek throughout the evening, the game was eventually called off without a single ball being bowled.
The hosts came into this game hoping to seal the series with a win on the back of a 2-0 lead, while the visitors were keen to pull one back for themselves. Unfortunately, the rain-gods had different thoughts and the sporadic showers ultimately had the final say in the matter.
This wretched result (or lack of it) means that the Englishmen will be buoyed by an unassailable 2-0 lead going into the 4th ODI on Saturday, 7th July at Chester-le-Street. On the other hand, the Aussies will be desperate to win the final two games to share the honors in this five match series.
