The Final Day started off with some thunder storms and showers. But after a delay of few hours, Khalin Joshi started the round with 3 birdies on the first four holes and coasted home with a 2 under par 68 to win the prestigious TATA STEEL Western India Amateur Golf Championship by a margin of 17 shots. Khalin ended the Championship with four consecutive under par rounds.
On winning the championship Khalin commented, "I am very happy with winning this championship and the way I have played in this championship. I like to thank the sponsor Tata Steel for sponsoring the IGU Amateur tour, the Golf Club and its committee for giving us the golf course in excellent condition."
The surprise runner up was Udayan Mane from Bangalore who played exceptional golf for the day by finishing 4 under for the day. Vikram Rana from Delhi came in 3rd position by shooting a 1 under final round.
Next on the cards is the Tata Steel Maharashtra Open Golf Championship to be played at Poona Golf Course, Pune.
