Bayern Munich's tormentor-in-chief and Chelsea hero Didier Drogba has seemingly scored his 'final' goal in a Blues shirt, with reports in many of the UK's top tabloids suggesting he is poised to join Chinese Super League club Shanghai Shenua. Drogba who scored the two most important goals in Chelsea footballing history on Saturday, is reportedly ready to leave The Blues on a free transfer and accept the 250,000 pounds per week deal offered by the Chinese club.

There were reports coming out of the Chinese media last week suggesting Drogba's agent Thierno Seidy was ready to meet Shanghai club owner Zhu Jun, in a bid to wrap the deal much sooner than expected in order to help the struggling Shanghai side who lie a lowly 10th in the Chinese league.

The Ivorian's exploits in the two most important matches for the London club, the FA Cup and Champions League Final, have made him a cult hero with the Chelsea faithful, a fact Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich will have to consider if he intends to let his talismanic striker go for free. Shanghai's new player-coach Nicolas Anelka had flamed Drogba's reported interest in joining him by claiming his former team-mate had made up his mind but was waiting in expectation of an improved deal at Chelsea.

The 34-year old's decision to put an end to his 8-year stint with the London club and leave for China, would mean joining another billionaire, gaming tycoon Zhu Jun, who himself is trying to realise his one of his dreams, that of making Shanghai Shenua a major global football club.

Jun who had bought a majority stake in Shanghai Shenua in 2007, is in some way comparable to Abramovich with both putting truck-loads of money into an average club, to make it successful. 45-year old Zhu had compared these negotiations with Drogba, through a tweet, to flirting with a girl, claiming it would end well if one kept on trying. Jun though, is not known to be popular with Shanghai fans, because of his strange way of dealing with club's management and anti-fan ways, a point which Drogba will have to take note of before sitting down to negotiate.
