The bizhub Highveld Lions went top of the MiWay T20 Challenge on net run rate when they beat the Nashua Titans by 7 wickets with 45 balls to spare at SuperSport Park on Friday evening. The Lions and the Chevrolet Knights both have 18 points while the Nashua Mobile Cape Cobras have moved into third place on 16 points after also scoring a bonus points victory by 35 runs over the New Age Impi at Sahara Park Willowmoore.

All three games played on Friday resulted in bonus points wins with the Chevrolet Warriors beating the Sunfoil Dolphins by 10 wickets at Sahara Stadium Kingsmead. The Warriors remain in sixth position although they are now just three points behind the fifth placed Dolphins.

Highlights of Friday's matches included Makhaya Ntini taking 3/12 in 4 overs for the Chevrolet Warriors and Quinton de Kock making an unbeaten 72 off 36 balls (7 fours and 5 sixes) for the Lions. Had this game gone the full distance (the Lions won with 45 balls to spare) De Kock could well have become the second centurion of this season's competition.

The first centurion, Khayelihle Zondo of the Impi, made 35 off 39 balls and became one of four players to score 200 runs in this season's competition. Andrew Puttick and Ashwell Prince have also gone past 200 runs while Stiaan van Zyl of the Cobras is the first player to go past the 300 runs mark.

Log positions: bizhub Highveld Lions 18 points (5 matches), Chevrolet Knights 18 (6), Nashua Mobile Cape Cobras 16 (6), Nashua Titans 15 (6), Sunfoil Dolphins 12 (5), Chevrolet Warriors 9 (5), New Age Impi 0 (7).
