C. Suresh Kumar qualifies for TAKE Chennai amateur team

With 80 golfers teeing off for a spot on the TAKE Chennai amateur team, Madras Gymkhana Club saw some exciting competition. C. Suresh Kumar overcame stiff competition to book his berth on the TAKE Chennai amateur team along with V. Manoharan from Coimbatore Golf Club.

Starting with a handicap of 13, C. Suresh Kumar earned a berth on the TAKE Chennai team, edging out Siddanth Pai in a nail-biting contest. Suresh ended with a net score of 40 to beat Siddanth, who had a net score of 38 points.

Suresh will now join V Manoharan, the qualifier from Coimbatore Golf Club on the TAKE Chennai amateur team and play alongside the likes of Arjuna Awardee Gaurav Ghei, two times European Tour winner SSP Chowrasia, and Sri Lankan golfer Anura Rohana for the Louis Philippe Cup Inter-City Pro-Am title on the 7th and 8th March of the Louis Philippe Cup. With two qualifiers on the team, TAKE Chennai amateur team is eagerly awaiting the final qualifier from Cosmopolitan Club.

About the Louis Philippe Cup:

The Louis Philippe Cup, with its new IPL-style format, and Rs.1.20 crore purse will be the richest domestic event on the PGTI calendar. All the top ranked golfers on the PGTI circuit including former Asian Tour Player of the Year Jyoti Randhawa, European Tour regular Shiv Kapur, two time European Tour winner SSP Chowrasia, two time Asian Tour winner Gaganjeet Bhullar, 2011 Asian Tour winner Anirban Lahiri, 2011 Singapore Classic winner Himmat Rai and current No.1 in the Rolex-PGTI rankings Chiragh Kumar have confirmed their participation in the extravaganza.
