With more than 60 golfers competing for the lone spot in the Puravankara Bangalore amateur team, Bangalore's oldest golf club saw some exciting competition. Mr. Shreepad Renu overcame stiff competition to book his berth on the Puravankara Bangalore amateur team along with B. K Satish from Eagleton and youngster Trisha. S. Kumar from Karnataka Golf Association.

Ms. Dhanlakshmi Rice, playing off a handicap of 12, missed a berth on the Puravankara Bangalore team by a whisker, losing out in a nail-biting contest to eventual winner Shreepad Renu. Playing off a handicap of 5, Shreepad ended with a net score of 65, by playing the course level par to narrowly edge out Ms. Dhanlakshmi Rice who had a net 66.

Shreepad will now join Trisha S Kumar and B. K Satish Kumar on the Puravankara Bangalore amateur team and play alongside the likes of 2011 Panasonic Open winner Anirban Lahiri, Delhi golfer Manav Jaini and Abhishek Jaha for the Louis Philippe Cup Inter-City Pro-Am title on the 7th and 8h March of the Louis Philippe Cup. With all the members of the pro and amateur teams finalized, Puravankara Bangalore team is looking forward to the inaugural edition of the Louis Philippe Cup to be played in their hometown.

The Louis Philippe Cup, with its new IPL-style format, and Rs.1.20 crore purse will be the richest domestic event on the PGTI calendar. All the top ranked golfers on the PGTI circuit including former Asian Tour Player of the Year Jyoti Randhawa, European Tour regular Shiv Kapur, two time European Tour winner SSP Chowrasia, two time Asian Tour winner Gaganjeet Bhullar, 2011 Asian Tour winner Anirban Lahiri, 2011 Singapore Classic winner Himmat Rai and current No.1 in the Rolex-PGTI rankings Chiragh Kumar have confirmed their participation in the extravaganza.

Runner-up: Ms. Dhanlakshmi Rice - 66 net (Handicap 12)
