India win team title, Manav ahead in individual standings at Bangladesh Amateur Open golf

Indian golfers, Manav Das and Khalin Joshi won the team title, while Manav Das extended his individual lead to seven shots at the Kurmitola Golf Club in Dhaka in the Bangladesh Open Amateur golf Championships on Thursday. Das followed his opening round 69 with a 68 in the second and he is now at 7-under 137 for two rounds.

The next best is Abdus Sobarhan (70-73) way back at one-under, while the best official entry from Bangladesh, Md Nazim was another stoke behind after rounds of 73 and 71. Defending champion Khalin Joshi of India shot another 74 and he was tied eighth at 148.

The Indian duo of Manav Das and Khalin Joshi emerged winners in the team event as they aggregated 285 for two days and finished 10 strokes ahead of the Bangladesh A team, Sajib Ali and Dulal Hussain who were at 295. Sri Lanka's N Thangaraja and Vijita Bhandara also totaled 295 but lost on countback.

Apart from hosts Bangladesh, golfers from Afghanistan, India, Nepal, Bhutan, Pakistan and Sri Lanka are participating in the five-day meet.
