In an unfortunate incident, Pune FC's on-loan custodian Abhra Mondal cracked his shin on the right leg after a clash with Shillong Lajong FC winger Eugeneson Lyngdoh in the second half of their I-League game in Shillong today.

The keeper had to be stretchered off and immediately sent to the hospital where examinations revealed that both tibia and fibula near the ankle were cracked.

The facture was reduced and Abhra, subsequently, was put in a plaster cast. The doctor at the hospital has advised for intra medullar pinning.

A final decision will be taken after consulting our (Pune FC) orthopedic surgeon.

Pune FC Coach Derrick Pereira said, "It's sad that he will be out for some time. Ever since he joined us he's been part of whatever we have achieved and I am sure he's a strong boy and back in action soon."

Pune FC General Manager Dr. Ashok Kumar added, "It's the most unfortunate thing to happen for us at this stage of the league. Abhra's is the third goalkeeper down with injury this season. I wish him a speedy recovery."

The Kolkata-born goalkeeper has turned out to be a regular in Pune FC's line up since Round 7 of the league. He so far has figured in all matches since then conceding seven goals in Pune FC's 11 match unbeaten run so far.
