Bafana Bafana has dropped four places to 56th on the latest Coca/Cola FIFA World Rankings released on Wednesday, 18 January 2012. South Africa is now ranked joint 56th with Cameroon in the world.
On the continent, Bafana Bafana is ranked eight, just one position behind Cameroon. Cote d'Ivoire still leads the pack in Africa, followed by Ghana, Algeria, Egypt and Senegal. Nigeria, Cameroon, South Africa, Cape Verde Islands and Tunisia complete the top ten.
At the top of the world rankings world champions Spain continue to lead the way. They are still followed by the Netherlands, Germany, Uruguay and England. Others making the top ten are Brazil, Portugal, Croatia, Italy and Argentina.
The next FIFA World Rankings will be released on Wednesday, 15 February 2012.
