Get ready to welcome the New Year as the WWE Universe heralds the coming of a new age. Two new champions were crowned at TLC, and the current champions have ensured that the landscape of the WWE is about to change, big time. With that in mind, here’s what lies in store this week for the fans in India:

Raw (Thursday 5 pm IST):

CM Punk must be ecstatic after successfully defending the WWE Championship in a vicious triple threat Tables, Ladders and Chairs match, and this week it will be time for celebration for him, and introspection for his opponents at TLC. But with the title around his waist, he has the biggest target on his back. Punk will most probably get to know his newest challenger this week on Raw. It will be interesting to see who gets the chance to be the next man to face the Second City Saviour.

Since Raw is a Supershow, superstars from SmackDown will be gracing the occasion along with their Raw counterparts, and this includes the two new champions which were crowned at TLC. The new United States Champion Zack Ryder and the new World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan will be in action this week on Raw, and who knows, the three new ‘revolutionary’ champions may create some magic inside the ring together!

The Slammy special edition of Raw sprung its biggest surprise when the Big Red monster, Kane made his return to the ring, his mask back on his face and decided to attack John Cena instead of the man that put him on the shelf, Mark Henry. Kane’s intentions are still not clear, and Cena has vowed to get some answers out of his newest seven-foot nemesis. What is going on inside the twisted mind of Kane? We will find out this week on Raw.

For all this and much more, tune in this Thursday to Raw.

SmackDown (Friday IST):

The actions of Daniel Bryan at TLC, where he cashed in Money in the Bank to claim the World Heavyweight Championship, shocked everyone in the WWE Universe, but have angered two very fierce giants. While Mark Henry will be hell-bent on reclaiming the symbol of his dominance over the SmackDown roster, Big Show would be furious at Bryan for limiting his championship reign, making it the shortest World Heavyweight Championship run in wrestling history. The American Dragon will have to watch his back, for both these behemoths will be gunning for the big gold belt. But who will be the one who gets the title shot? We will find that out on SmackDown.

Two champions will square off in the ring as United States Champion Zack Ryder will face off against Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes in singles contest. Both these men had huge victories at TLC, and this will be the perfect opportunity to send out a strong message to the rest of the SmackDown locker room. But while Ryder will have to be on the lookout for a possible ambgush by Dolph Ziggler, the previous champion, Rhodes will have to constantly watch his back as Booker-T, the man who he defeated at TLC using rather questionable tactics, will be present right next to the ring on the announce table. This match promises to be a great entertainer.

Speaking of champions, Daniel Bryan will get his chance to silence his critics (read Michael Cole) as he will face Dolph Ziggler in a non-title match in the main event of the night. Also, one half of the tag team champions, Kofi Kingston will be up against one half of the team that almost won the tag titles at TLC, Primo. Also, watch out for your favourite superstars like Sheamus, Wade Barrett, Randy Orton and the Miz, right here on SmackDown!

NXT (Sunday IST):

The hunt for WWE’s next breakout star continues, as Darren Young seeks to eradicate his opposition with his newest allies, Tyler Reks and Curt Hawkins. But Titus O’ Niel, who has way more redemption points than D-Young will back down from no challenge, and it will be really interesting to see who comes out on top.

Tough Enough (Sunday IST):

Track the journey of Andy Leavine as he fights off challenges and perfects his skills under the tutelage of Stone Cold Steve Austin, Booker-T and Bill DeMott on the way to become WWE’s next developmental star, on WWE’s only reality show, Tough Enough.

YouTube video of the week:

Match: Triple H (c) vs Shawn Michaels vs Rob Van Dam vs Booker-T vs Kane (Elimination Chamber match for the World Heavyweight Championship)

Venue: Survivor Series 2002

This was the inaugural elimination chamber match, and a testament to the storied rivalry between Triple H and Shawn Michaels.
