The seeds have been announced for the draws of the 2012 BNP Paribas Davis Cup which is scheduled to take place on Wednesday in Bangkok. This year's finalists Spain and Argentina lead the seeds in the World Group, while the remaining are decided by the current ITF rankings given to each nation. The current semifinalists Serbia and France are seeded 3 and 4 respectively.
The draws for 2012 Europe/Africa Zone Groups I and II, and Asia/Oceania Zone Groups I and II will also take place in Bangkok. A decision about the scheduling of the draw for 2012 Americas Zone Groups I and II will be made on Tuesday following the completion of the Americas Zone Group II tie between Paraguay and Peru on Monday.
Having lost to Japan in the Word Group playoff this year, India will feature as the top seeds in the Asia/Oceania Zone Group I while the Australians who were carted off by a Roger Federer inspired Switzerland will be seeded second. The Europe/Africa Zone Group I will be lead by Israel and South Africa as the top two seeds.
The coveted country vs country competition kicks off in 2012 with the first round scheduled to be played on 10-12 February.

The seeded nations will be drawn against the remaining World Group nations: Austria, Canada, Germany, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Sweden and Switzerland.
