Stoke City added hard-tackling Tottenham midfielder Wilson Palacios to their ranks, signing the Honduras international on a four-year contract. Palacios, 27, is said to have cost the Potters around £6 million, and will join Spurs teammates Jonathan Woodgate and Peter Crouch, who also moved to last season's FA Cup finalists.
Palacios' deal came just before the transfer deadline, with the transfer finalised after the player passed a medical and agreed personal terms with the club.
Stoke manager Tony Pulis said after the purchase : "This is a fantastic deal for the club because Wilson has proved himself to be a top class performer at the highest level.
"He has a considerable amount of international experience and played a prominent part in getting Tottenham into the Champions League only two years ago.
"He has great energy and the qualities to become a driving force in the middle of the park, the type of player our fans will love. We have been looking to stregthen our options in midfield and I am delighted to have him on board."
Palacios moved to Spurs from Wigan Athletic in 2009 for a deal said to be worth £12 million, and has since made 81 appearances for the North London club. However, he has fallen out of favour in recent times, and was linked with a move out of the club throughout the summer.
