Bolton have struck late deals to bring the talented, young duo of David N'Gog and Gael Kakuta to the Reebok Stadium. 22-year old Liverpool striker N'Gog has joined the club on a permanent three-year deal, while Kakuta joins Bolton on a six-month loan deal from Chelsea.

With the end of the transfer season looming large, Liverpool were looking to offload N'Gog, who was deemed as surplus to requirements at the Merseyside club, and wanted regular first-team football. A number of clubs showed an interest in the Frenchman, but it was finally Bolton who walked away with the £4 million rated Liverpool striker.

Trotters manager Owen Coyle spoke in glowing terms of N'Gog following the player's capture, and believed that the youngster would shine in the future for the Bolton side.

"David will be a great addition to our squad," Coyle said. "He is quick, can score goals and he knows what the Barclays Premier League is all about. Added to that there is his European experience with Liverpool in the Champions and Europa Leagues.

"We are delighted to bring another quality, young prospect to Bolton."

Meanwhile, Kakuta follows in the footsteps of Daniel Sturridge, who had a very successful loan spell with Bolton in the second-half of last season. The 20-year old player had spent the latter part of the previous season on loan at Fulham, and now has joined the Trotters to gain valuable first-team action, something he is unlikely to receive at Chelsea this term.

"I'm delighted that Chelsea have enabled us to take Gael on loan and I'd like to thank Andre (Villas-Boas) and the club for that," said Coyle after securing a deal for the Frenchman.

"He is someone whose progress we have tracked since he first broke into the Chelsea first team a couple of years ago. He is skilful, quick, exciting to watch and I'm really looking forward to working with him."
