Barclays Premier League:

A hectic round of weekend fixtures will be capped of by a tantalizing clash between title-contenders Arsenal and Chelsea in the early hours of Tuesday morning. Sunday evening will be crammed with action as 9 matches take place within a span of just a few hours. Manchester United welcome Steve Bruce’s Sunderland side while Manchester City will face a stern test at St. James’ Park when they take on Newcastle United.

The Premier League teams will be back in action on Tuesday and Wednesday as midweek games are also scheduled to take place, subject to the uncertainties of the English weather. During the early hours of Wednesday, Manchester City will roll out the welcoming wagon for the visit of Aston Villa while Manchester United will travel to Birmingham City a few hours later.

Thursday morning will see Chelsea take on Bolton Wanderers while Liverpool will face Wolverhampton Wanderers. Both Chelsea and Liverpool have home games while Arsenal will face Wigan Athletic at the DW Stadium.

Italian Serie A, German Bundesliga and Spanish La Liga

The Italians, Germans and the Spanish take a customary winter break this week. The Spanish La Liga season will recommence on January 2nd while the Serie A will resume on the 6th. The German Bundesliga takes an extra week off and restarts on the 14th of January.
