In accordance with the CGF Anti-Doping Standard (ADS) for the XIX Commonwealth Games, the CGF's Federation Court conducted a Provisional Hearing this afternoon to consider an adverse analytical finding submitted by Nigerian athlete Samuel Okon following his participation in the men's 110 metres hurdles on October 8, 2010.

The athlete tested positive for the prohibited substance Methylhexaneamine, listed as a prohibited stimulant under category S6 of the WADA list of prohibited substances and methods.

Mr. Okon attended the Provisional Hearing of the Federation Court this afternoon. Mr Okon confirmed that he was waiving his right to have his B sample tested, and he also waived his right to a Full Hearing as provided for under the ADS.

Subsequently, the Federation Court determined that Mr Okon had committed an anti-doping rule violation and that he be disqualified from the Games and all his competition results at the 2010 Commonwealth Games be nullified.
