chloe_isaac.jpgChloé Isaac, from Brossard, Canada will be participating in the duet synchronised swimming event at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi. In an exclusive interview with TheSportsCampus in the run-up to the games, Chloé shares her successes, her love for her art and how excited she is about making the trip over to India for the Games.

Usually Chloe participates in the duet, team and combo events, however, Delhi 2010 has just two events - Solo and Duet - and hence Chloe will be participating in just the duet event this time around. As a result, Chloe says her preparation is "more specific than usual."

The 19-year old star was introduced to the sport of Synchronized Swimming at the age of 8 and spends 6 hours a day in training. Chloe is a multiple time Canadian National Champion across various disciplines, and also won a bronze medal at the 2009 FINA World Aquatic Championships. She has had a very busy run-up to the Games participating in the Japan Open, Spain Open and the Junior World Championships, where she continued to do Canada proud.

She follows a strict diet plan because: "Synchronized Swimming is artistic and nice body fitness is beneficial. I need to make sure I eat well to perform and keep that athletic appearance." Her fitness regime includes ballet twice a week and strength training three times a week. She feels mental preparation is beneficial and always tries to be "ready mentally before a competition."

The driving force in her career is her coach Julie Sauvé, who  has been coaching for more than 30 years. "She knows how to push her athletes to their limit and make them enjoy the sport," says Chloe.

She is really excited about participating in the Commonwealth Games in New Delhi and wants to enjoy the experience as much as possible. Asked about real life heroes she says, "I've always admired Sylvie Fréchette for all she has accomplished and for what she has been through in her life and career."

After the Games, Chloe and the rest of her teammates are headed to Dubai for a brief vacation!
