In a speech full of love and appreciation for the XIX Commonwealth games 2010 Delhi, HE Peter Waterworth, Governor, Montserrat left no stone unturned when he thanked the host nation India for considering Montserrat, one of the smallest Commonwealth nation to be fit for the Queen's Baton visit.
The Queen's Baton Delhi 2010 reached the island nation of Montserrat yesterday. Today the relay commenced when James Greenaway, ‘fittest man on the island' and a prominent athlete of the country carried the baton to the Governor's office. The baton was welcomed by HE Peter Waterworth along with top officials from the Indian High Commission to Trinidad & Tobago.
This was followed by the participation of school children in relaying the baton around the Government offices led by James Greenaway. Monsterrat Special Olympics Representative also posed with the baton for pictures. The baton then travelled around the capital city of Plymouth on the CGA President's boat to shoot the ruins of the city which was destroyed due to volcanic eruptions years back.
The day came to a close as many Indian businessmen and women posed with the baton for pictures.
