It was an important day for the island nation of Dominica as the Queen's Baton arrived in the morning. The Baton was received at the airport by President and Secretary of the Dominican Olympic Committee. This was followed by a dance and music pieces being performed by indigenous inhabitants.
A special performance along with arts and crafts of the Carib's was organised welcoming the Queen's Baton from the twin island of Antigua and Barbuda. The day came to an end with a press conference hosted by the President of Dominica His Excellency Nicolus Liverpool and the first lady of Dominica.
The island nation popularly known as ‘Nature Isle of the Caribbean' amongst the locals is spread on an area of 754 square kilometres with an estimated population of 72,500.
The next day the Queen's Baton saw students relay the baton from school to school spreading the message of peace , harmony and brotherhood. The President of Dominica extended his support for this movement by participating enthusiastically in the relay.
In the afternoon prominent athletes of Dominica relayed the Baton from the airport to the Windsor Park stadium. Shera's presence at the event delighted all the school children present there. The day concluded with a gala cultural performance attended by the President of Dominica, Sports Minister and the Mayor apart from Miss Dominica.
