In a move that can only be seen as a huge leap in the right direction, Zimbabwe cricket looks all set to be heading for a major revival in fortunes with the appointment of a new cricket committee under the Chairmanship of former skipper Alistair Campbell.
Campbell represented Zimbabwe in 60 Test matches and 188 ODIs, including 21 and 86 respectively as captain.
Following a Zimbabwe Cricket Board resolution to restructure the Cricket Committee earlier this year, the following new members were added to the committee: Alistair Campbell (Chairman of the Committee), Andrew Waller, Stanley Staddon, Jackie du Preez, Tavengwa Mukuhlani, Walter Chawaguta and Dirk Viljoen.
Various Zimbabwe Cricket Board committees are run to help monitor and/or establish Zimbabwe Cricket policy the Cricket Committee is one such. This committee assists the board specifically by reviewing and making recommendations regarding domestic and international fixtures, the coaching, umpiring and scoring structures at both provincial and national levels and player contracts.
