French Open champions Leander Paes and Lukas Dlouhy crashed out of Wimbledon in the first round to Americans James Blake and Mardy Fish 6-4, 6-4, 6-3 in the Gentlemen's Doubles.

The Indo - Czech pair had their chances in a match where the score belies their competitiveness. The 3rd seeds took ju st 3 off 19 break opportunities in the match, including going 0 for 4 in the first set. The unseeded all-American pair of Blake and Fish meanwhile grabbed theirs with glee, as they raced through the opening set 6-4 in just 34 minutes.

The second set was more of a contest as 5 of the 10 games resulted in a break of serve, however the Americans crucially remained one-up on their opponents as they nicked the set, by the same score. Paes and Dlouhy were their own worst nightmares in the second, committing 5 double faults and 6 unforced errors between them, giving away too many free points to their opponents.

Paes and Dlouhy were just as careless in the third, dishing out another five double faults, ending any hopes of a comeback.

India's Sania Mirza and Chia-Jung Chuang of Chinese Taipei showed some good continuity, defeating Americans Jill Craybas and Carly Gullickson 6-4, 6-2 in the first round of the women's doubles.

Mirza and Chuang did well to narrowly squeeze out a tight opening set, which saw them drop their serve twice. The second set was a lot easier, as the girls found their range on their serve, and raced through the set without conceding a break point.

They have a relatively easy second round match against Alla Kudryavtseva and Monica Niculescu. However should they come through that contest, the 15th seeds would come up against the second seeded pairing of Garrigues and Pascual for a place in the quarterfinals.
