India collected their second bronze medal for badminton at the Commonwealth Games, as fourth-seed Chetan Anand
beat
England's Aamir Ghaffar in a tight three game affair 21-17, 18-21, 21-13.
It was sweet revenge for Anand, who had just days ago lost to Ghaffar in the team event. Chetan played a lot better today, taking the net away from his opponent at every opportunity, and keeping Ghaffar pinned to the back of the court.
India had earlier won Bronze in the mixed team event.
Coach Vimar Kumar was full of praise for the effort his wards put in, "Chetan played well and deserved to win. I was confident we would win a medal in the open event. I was expecting a medal from our women players also. They may not have won a medal but they put up a good show."
In the women's doubles, young Saina Nehwal and Trupti Murgunde went down rather tamely to Eng land's Donna Kellogg and Elizabeth Gali Emms 14-21, 9-21 in a contest that lasted 28 minutes.
